Mashalla! for continuing to promote positive side of Islam- It is a refreshing antidote to the negative coverage that blankets the Western news media!

Shiraz, You mean the Trashy Tabloids which no intelligent person reads because everybody knows that, that is what they are, i.e. trash.

Thank you UofOttawa for recognizing the work His Highness does around the world. God Bless Canada.

Shiraz, you have to remember that he represents the face of Islam that many of the Muslim faith disavow. I know of many Sunni and Shia who cannot tolerate Ismailis or the Aga Khan. To me, he represents not only those of the Ismaili, and by extension, Muslim faith, but the best of what can be when it comes to expressing your faith, accepting of the faith of others (not according to a book but by action). He accepts and understands his humanity and expresses it through his faith and not through the radical tenet of political religious zelaots, whether those be Muslim, or Christian. He is the moderating voice of the creator, whatever you want to call it and shows us what is possible, rather than what is not possible. The Western media covers Islam in the manner that it does because those Muslims choose to represent their faith, quite wrongly, througt their actions. To this end the Aga Khan represents what is the best of Islam. I believe the one time a Sunni or Shia might agree is when they are in the same room with an Ismaili and they will choose to ignore them.
