At the urging of Ross Hastings, interim dean of the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, all uOttawa employees involved in Spring Convocation at the NAC joined the president, newly-installed chancellor, deans and professors on stage during the final ceremony, and were given a standing ovation.

The U of O convocation staff and the NAC staff definitely deserve a standing ovation. This was an exciting convocation. Due to a serious ankle injury, I had to attend the Saturday ceremonies in a wheelchair and could not join the faculty procession. Everyone did their utmost to ensure that I had my robes and that I was transported safely to the stage in order to join other faculty. Bravo and thanks so much!
